Vocational Rights (Government Gazette 203/τ.Α΄ /23.12.1991)

 

1. Based on their specialized scientific and pedagogical knowledge, graduates of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care are entitled to engage, either independently or in collaboration with other scientists, in:

a) the study, organization and operation of Early Childhood Care Centers for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

b) the education and care of infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

 

2. The abovementioned graduates have the right of employment, either in the private or public sector, as members of staff in Early Childhood Care Centers for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. They are exempt from the educational centers which are within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.

They may also be self-employed in the following areas and activities:

a) The education and care of preschool children from the age of two months until their enrollment in primary school.

b) The establishment and operation of Care Centers for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

c) The exercise of any other professional activity within the scope of their specialization, related to the pedagogical science in general or more specifically to the field of Early Childhood Education and Care according to the provisions of the current legislation in force.

d) They may professionally evolve in all levels in the management hierarchy in their areas of specialization, according to the current legislation in force.

 

3. The Department’s graduates are involved in education, according to the current legislation in force. Furthermore, they may participate in research groups addressing subjects relevant to their specialization.

 

4. Upon obtaining their degrees, Department’s graduates are qualified to exercise their profession within the limits of the above rights.
