Irini Roufidou is a Lecturer in the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care at the University of West Attica. She graduated from the Department of Infant and Early Childhood Education of TEI of Athens (1986) and the Department of Philosophy of Pedagogy and Psychology of Athens School of Philosophy (1992). She completed her Master’s degree in Education at the University Paris VIII-Vincennes Saint Denis in Paris. She worked for about ten years as an early years pedagogue at municipal nurseries which were under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Athens and at the 2nd State Nursery of Keratsini city. She has also worked in Technical Secondary Education, as a high school education teacher, for about ten years. In 2007 she was appointed Lecturer in the Department of Infant Care at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and since 2018 she has been a Lecturer at the University of West Attica. She participates in conferences in Greece and internationally. Her research interests focus mainly on Infant’s and Young Children’s Education, Pedagogical Practices and the psychoanalytic approach to Infant and Young Children’s Education.
