FAQs - Uniwa

In which year of studies am I allowed to participate in the Erasmus+ programme?

Students are now able to study abroad with the Erasmus+ programme from their first year of studies. You can find more information in the University of West Attica page: https://erasmus.uniwa.gr/en/erasmus-studies/students/how-to-apply/

When should I apply for the Erasmus+ programme?

There are no definite dates. You should visit the Erasmus+ page of the university of West Attica often and keep up with relevant announcements. Please remember that your preparations should start as early as possible (e.g. 6 months before you leave).

What are the selection criteria for students who would like to participate in the Erasmus+ programme?

The selection of the students is based on the average mark resulting from the total number of ECTS credits that each student accumulates (or alternatively the number of courses passed) divided by their semester of studies. In case of a tie, overall performance and marks, the choice of a country with reduced mobility, the level of proficiency in the foreign language, language proficiency and gender balance are also considered.

Am I able to complete my professional practicum by participating in the Erasmus+ programme?

Yes, there is a separate process relevant to professional practicum (Erasmus Traineeship). The first step is to locate an early childhood centre which will accept you as a student teacher. Please find the details in this link:  https://erasmus.uniwa.gr/en/erasmus-traineeship/how-to-apply-vefore-your-arrival/

Is there someone I could contact for more information?

Yes, you could contact the Erasmus coordinator of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care, Maria Hatzigianni, mhatzigianni@uniwa.gr
